Abstract:
Although you are only able to set up power ranges for progressive lenses with a V2300 (and not a V2200) CPT code in OfficeMate, there is no impact to your provider reimbursements on VSP insurance claims that contain progressive lenses. The V2200 or V2300 CPT code is denied, but the payment is correct, despite any confusion displayed with the codes when reconciling the insurance claim and EOP.
Note, however, that if you are submitting government or commercial insurance claims that contain progressive lenses, you must edit the CMS 1500 form to include the correct CPT code before submitting or printing the claims to ensure that your provider reimbursements on those claims are not impacted.
