Abstract:
You have three options for posting interest in OfficeMate. Your office policy dictates which option you should use. If you have questions or concerns about creating an office policy for posting interest, contact your accountant.
- You can simply post the principle payment in OfficeMate and ignore the interest.
Note: Your Deposit Ticket will be short by the amount of the interest, so your actual deposit at the bank will be more than is shown by the Deposit Ticket. - You can adjust the patient's balance to the amount of the principle plus the interest.
- You can create a patient called "Insurance Interest" and then create a fee slip for the amount of the interest.
Regardless of which option your office chooses, be consistent.
