Abstract:Untitled Document

Please share the information in this article with your IT provider. It provides you with information about accessing your main server running OfficeMate/ExamWRITER from a remote location.

Remote Access: Eyefinity recommends that any new remote locations connect to your existing main location through a Terminal Server running OfficeMate/ExamWRITER via a Remote Desktop client with a VPN. You can access the Remote Desktop client without a VPN, although that is not our recommendation.

Equipment Interfaces: Some visual equipment interfaces do not support Terminal Services and, for those interfaces, you will need a thick-client workstation instead of a VPN. For a complete list of equipment interfaces that do not support Terminal Services, see the linked related article. For step-by-step instructions on using the equipment interfaces that do support Terminal Services, see the ExamWRITER Equipment Integration User's Guide or Eyefinity EHR Equipment Integration Guide.

Bandwidth: Eyefinity recommends a minimum of 50 kbps per RDP user (up and down). If you are using Eyefinity EHR, Eyefinity recommends 3 Mbps down/1.5 Mbps up (single provider); 6 Mbps down/1.5 Mbps up (up to ten providers); and 20 Mbps down/3 Mbps up (more than ten providers).
