Abstract:
Prior to refunding a patient credit, the patient must have a credit (unapplied amount) on their account.
To refund a patient credit in OfficeMate v10.5 or above:
- Open a patient’s receipts and adjustments by clicking the Receipts icon and selecting Receipts and Adjustments.
- Click History.
- On the Receipt History window, select the positive unapplied amount in the Unapplied column that you want to refund.
- Click Refund.
- Complete the fields in the Patient Refund section on the Patient Refund Credit window.
- Click Refund.
- Click Yes on the Refund Warning message. Be aware that you cannot undo this refund!
- Click Print, if desired.
To refund a patient credit in OfficeMate v10 or below:
- Open a patient's ledger.
- Click the Patient Receipt History tab.
- Right-click on an item and select Refund Patient Credit.
- Complete the fields in the Patient Refund section.
- Click Refund.
Note: If you are using OfficeMate 5.2 and below, you can refund a patient credit by creating a fee slip with a "patient credit" or "refund" Product Name; however, you must select the appropriate posting date (File>Change Posting Date) before recording the fee slip or the posting date of the transaction will be incorrect.
